Dayarathne Ranathungayan

 He was born in 1940.His full name is Arachchige Dayarathne Ranathunga.He learned institutes are Ananda Shastralaya,Colombo and college of Music .His father's name is Charls Peter Perera Ranathunga.he is a principal. Ranathunga's mother's name is  Kolabage  Dona Maslin. She is a teacher. Its also publish of 2 school in the village.She is also reported to be the first woman to present a radio program on women. Dayarathne's wife is prof.Amara Kasthuriarachchi. She is a popular singer and player. She was died in 2018.

          Dayarathne Ranathunga was connected to the radio.  He's first song is 'vandhina sugatha lona'it's writer was he's father.It is a song with lyrics to a Hindi song.At the age of 12 he was enrolled as the first student in thr college of music.At the age of 15 he was sung the radio song while composing melody.He was a young graduater while passed the radio's simple song test and recorded the first  song in 1955.

He's education is marvellous. He was completed a B.S.C degree in J'pura campus,1959.he was won the music visharad degree in Laknow Music canpus,1960. He's jobs are Rubber  laboratory researcher in the Sri Lakan Tayar on the corporation., Sri Lankan radio's  music director.He is the graduater of B.S.C(Landon),B.Musis(Laknow),P.H.D(Canstate)

He's popular songs  are Sande ahase,Udumbara Sarasaiyedi, Mangala madhu.He's popular duet songs are Salalihiniyo,Samadhi budu,Mal pipila.
